Ethan was a very strong little baby. He did many of the physical milestones earlier than other babies his age. It looks like Elaina is not doing things quite as early as Ethan, but she is still a strong little lady! Yesterday, during her play time on the Baby Einstein mat, I had her on her stomach to continue to strengthen her upper body muscles, and she pushed herself from her tummy to her back! I remember Ethan doing this around 4 or 5 weeks old, and Elaina is 8 weeks old, so she's just a little behind what her big brother was doing at this point. I am kind of glad she's a little more laid back than Ethan! She's also rather difficult to control when you're holding her up on your shoulder (like in the burping position). She is constantly lifting her head and bobbing it all around. It's kind of funny to watch!
Today while she was laying on the play mat on her tummy, she scooted herself from facing the couch to facing the fireplace. It was almost a 90 degree turn! I know it will just be a matter of time before she is mobile! What will I do then? I enjoy only having to keep up with one little one right now, so when they are both moving around......oh dear! I'll need even more grace and strength to get through each day!
