First Few Days Home with Elaina

I have wanted to blog about our new arrival for several days now, but as you can all imagine, I really don't have much "free" time to do what I want. When I do have a few extra minutes, I usually lie down and rest to help me get through the rest of the day. Overall, I think our transition from one to two children has gone really well. It definitely helped having all of the grandparents here to keep Ethan company and help him not to feel neglected. He has been really sweet with Elaina for the most part. He wants to be close to her, and I really have to watch so that he is gentle when he touches her. He still doesn't like it when she cries. Sometimes he'll yell at her, "Stop crying baby!" We've been trying to help him understand why she cries and that yelling at her will not make it better.

Elaina has been a really good baby so far. She'll be two weeks old tomorrow, which is so hard to believe! She seems pretty content most of the time, and she is easy to please. I can already see some of the differences between her and Ethan in their personalities. One major difference between them is how dainty of an eater she is. She still nurses well, but the way she nurses is completely different from the way Ethan nursed. Let's just say it's easier on me this time around! My mom says she looks just like me, which I think is really neat. She certainly is a little doll!

Well, there is so much more to write, but I'll have to post it later. Please keep praying for us as we're really beginning to see Ethan "acting out" more in these last two days, whether it's because he's turning 2 or because he's starting to struggle with Elaina needing so much attention, I don't know, but it's very frustrating! We'll get through it, by God's grace!

Wednesday, April 15th-Elaina was hanging out in her pack 'n play wearing a very cute froggie sleeper....I just couldn't resist taking another picture!

Red roses from my sweet husband and a ducky flower pot with pretty yellow flowers from our Sunday School class at church...

My parents arrived on Tuesday, April 14th to visit little Elaina and of course play with their favorite grandson, Ethan.

Elaina and me were waiting for my parents to arrive....we'd only been home from the hospital for two days....
